Ah pois

Everywhere we turn, we have to pay for licences to be allowed to go about our business.
What is there left? Water is taxed at each end, with rates for turning on the tap or flushing it away. Air has so far been left strangely free. Compulsory meters bunged in nostrils could solve that. They have the technology. What about walking? Suntans? Sleep? Smiling has also escaped, perhaps because it is now prohibited on passport photographs.
In any case, as things are going, it would yield diminishing returns.
